Country Music Hall of Fame Event & Fan Fair Hall Signing
Nashville, TN (May 7, 2012) -- Grammy Award winning group, The Oak Ridge Boys, will deliver the National Anthem as part of the Nightly Concerts at LP Field during the CMA Music Festival on Friday, June 8, 2012 at 7:45 p.m. Prominently known as "Singers of the Anthem," the country legends were proclaimed the official National Anthem Singers by the National Association of Music Educators National Anthem Project from 2005-2010.
“It is an honor to be invited by the CMA Music Festival to sing the National Anthem at LP Field. The Boys are very active in the Festival this year, and have been part of every Festival and Fan Fair since the very first one,” says lead singer Duane Allen.
Oak Ridge Boys member Joe Bonsall adds, “The CMA Music Festival has not only become Nashville's biggest yearly event, but country music is now bigger and stronger than it has ever been. We feel like we have placed some stones on the mountain, but the artists of today have reached higher than ever before to take country music to amazing heights of artistry and performance. We are all thrilled to stand with them at CMA Music Fest once again.”
This year’s 4-day event will take place on Thursday, June 7th through Sunday, June 10th in Downtown Nashville. The powerhouse group will be featured at various performances, host a special signing at the Country Music Hall of Fame, and appear at Fan Fair Hall in celebration of the CMA Music Festival and the group’s current CD, It’s Only Natural, released through Cracker Barrel Old Country Store®. These events follow the Opry members’ recent performance at the grand opening celebration of the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City which generated global headlines.
The Oak Ridge Boys are touring across the U.S. this year, including headlining additional casino shows in Las Vegas. Fans should also be on the lookout for new CD releases such as the highly anticipated country/gospel album Back Home Again scheduled to launch on May 22nd as well as a Christmas project.

Nashville Memorial Service For Steve Popovich Announced
Nashville Memorial Service For Steve Popovich Announced
Nashville, Tennessee (June 21, 2011) -- A memorial service for Steve Popovich will be held from 6 - 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 30 at United Methodist Fellowship Church (2511 Highway 99, Murfreesboro); a reception follows at the Church from 7 - 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Stephen C. Popovich Memorial Fund, U.S. Bank, 2504 Old Fort Parkway, Murfreesboro, TN 37128. All funds donated will benefit the various charities that Steve has contributed to throughout his life.
The engaging and unconventional industry legend championed such disparate talents as Michael Jackson, Boston, Johnny Cash, David Allan Coe and polka king Frank Yankovic during a multi-decade career that began in 1962. From unloading trucks at a Columbia Records' warehouse, young Popovich's "foot-in-the-door" mentality would, at 26, see him rise to the position of Vice President of Promotion for the label; a feat that is well-remembered by his "Sony cronies." In 1976, after helping break Bruce Springsteen worldwide, he left Columbia and formed Cleveland International Records. He discovered Meat Loaf and released the BAT OUT OF HELL album, which has gone on to become one of the Top 5 selling albums in the history of the music business. Steve worked his way into Music City hearts while at the helm of PolyGram Records Nashville in the late 1980s, working with Kris Kristofferson, The Statler Brothers, Tom T. Hall, Kathy Mattea, Lynn Anderson, Tom Jones, Johnny Paycheck and others. Steve Popovich (born July 6, 1942 in Nemacolin, PA) leaves behind a son, Steve Popovich Jr., a daughter, Pamela Popovich, a sister, Barb Lemmo, and two grandchildren, Tanner and Stephen Popovich.
Funeral services were held June 13 at St. John of the Cross in Euclid, Ohio; interment followed at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chesterland. Popovich died at his home in Murfreesboro, TN on June 8 at age 68.
Condolences may be sent to the family via email: spopovich34@earthlink.net .

Jamey Johnson Receives TWO ACM Nominations
JAMEY JOHNSON RECEIVES TWO ACM NOMINATIONS,
INCLUDING ALBUM OF THE YEAR
GRAMMY-NOMINATED ALBUM CONTINUES TO RECEIVE ACCOLADES
Nashville, TN - Jamey Johnson has received two nominations from the Academy of Country Music Awards, including Album of the Year for The Guitar Song, the most-lauded country album of 2010.
"The triumph of a gold-selling double album is shared by my family, my friends/bandmates/producers, my staff, my label, my booking agents, my publishers, my management, my publicists, my handlers, my wranglers, my fans, my dog, Willie's braids and that beautiful brunette in Toledo,” Jamey says. “Thanks all for the hard work and dedication. You all deserve each accolade. And thanks to the Academy voters for the recognition."
Jamey also received an ACM nomination in the category of Vocal Event of the Year for his performance with Colt Ford of “Cold Beer.”
"If working with Colt in the studio was a ball, touring with him on the road with the Grascals and Hank Williams, Jr. was several balls,” Jamey says. “He's a unique artist in a day where uniquity is not usually rewarded. I'm proud to be nominated alongside my friend."
Jamey is a two-time winner in the ACM Song of the Year category, taking home trophies in 2009 for “In Color” and 2007 for “Give It Away,” which was recorded by George Strait.
The Guitar Song was produced by Arlis Albritton, Dave Cobb and The Kent Hardly Playboys, all of whom received nominations as well in the Album of the Year category. In addition, two members of The Kent Hardly Playboys received individual nominations. Jim “Moose” Brown is nominated for Top Piano/Keyboard Player of the Year, and “Cowboy” Eddie Long is nominated for Top Steel Guitar Player of the Year.
Jamey’s The Guitar Song, an ambitious 25-song double album, also recently received two Grammy nominations -- Country Album of the Year and Best Male Country Vocal performance for “Macon.” (He received a third Grammy nomination in Best Country Collaboration with Vocals for “Bad Angels” with Dierks Bentley and Miranda Lambert.)
In addition, The Guitar Song was recently certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.
Last week, the Nashville Scene’s 11th annual Country Music Critics’ Poll named The Guitar Song the best album of 2011 and named Jamey Artist of the Year, Best Male Vocalist and Best Songwriter.
The Guitar Song was ranked No. 5 on Rolling Stone’s Best Albums of 2010 and “Macon” was ranked No. 23 on Rolling Stone’s Best Singles of 2010.
“What does Jamey Johnson keep under all of that hair? Songs,” says Rolling Stone. “Nashville’s gruffest and grittiest star turns out to be its most reliable traditionalist, a Music Row pro who can write a song for every emotional season. Johnson pulled out a whole slew of them – 25, clocking in north of 105 minutes – four his double-disc fourth album: acoustic confessions and rugged boogie blues, big weepers and grim reapers, cover tunes and novelty ditties, not to mention “California Riots” and “Playing the Part,” a pair of fiercely funny, unrepentantly redneck swipes at the frou-frou blue states.”
The Washington Post, which ranked the album at No. 2 on its list of 2010’s greatest hits, says, “He sings in the baritone of God and carries a guitar covered in Sharpie squiggles – autographed from the likes of Haggard, Nelson and other country music royalty. Now Johnson’s sweeping double album raises the question: How long before he has to sign it himself?”
Spin also named The Guitar Song as No. 5 on its list of The 40 Best Albums of 2010. “Johnson’s double-album opus isn’t one of the past decade’s best country records because he’s a boundary-pushing subversive,” Spin says.
The New York Times included “Even the Skies Are Blue” on its list of Top Songs, while People included The Guitar Song in its Top 10 Music list, noting, “In an era when much of country music is designed for bite-size radio consumption, this old-school outlaw – and Matthew McConaughey BFF – served up a meaty, 25-track double album that sticks to your bones.”
He also made best-album lists of The Boston Globe, Los Angeles Times, Paste, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Detroit Free Press, The Arizona Republic and other publications.

New offices will be located at 1028 B 18th Street on historic Music Row in Nashville, Tennessee. New phone number is 615-320-7800.
“Over the years John Ruffino, Russell Doussan, Jim Green, Jay Wilson, Jill Wheeler and I have developed many meaningful relationships with artists, managers and agents based in Nashville,” Weinberger said. “In order to maximize the services we provide to our clients, now seems the right time to have a more prominent presence in Nashville.“
“The people we work with in Nashville have become such an important part of our business opening an office there makes great sense to us,” said Russell Doussan, president of BDE.
“I have worked with Russell, John and Gary over the years and look forward to collaborating with them and expanding our promotional footprint,” said Jim Green.
It was announced last month by Dale Morris and Marc Oswald, co-owners of Fontanel, the hiring of RME as the promoter/operator of concerts and events at The Woods at Fontanel. “Having the resources and contacts Russell and Jim have developed the three of our company’s will work to help The Woods at Fontanel achieve it’s goals,” said John Ruffino, a partner at RME.

RME is also known for booking concerts for the 9,600 capacity Amphitheater at The Wharf in Orange Beach, Alabama, and co-producing with BDE the highly successful Rowdy Frynds Tours starring Hank Williams Jr. and Lynyrd Skynyrd in 2007 & 2008. OAK RIDGE BOYS TOP AOL MUSIC’S “TOP 10 CATCHY SONGS IN COUNTRY”
Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Kenny Rogers, Hank Williams Jr., and George Jones among others in the Top 10
Nashville, TN – In the July 9th feature on AOL Music’s “The Boot” http://www.theboot.com/2010/07/09/catchy-songs/, The Oak Ridge Boys take home the honor of having the catchiest song in country music. The Catch: "Elvira, Elvira/My Heart's on fire, Elvira/Giddy up, oom-poppa-oom-poppa-mow-mow".
“When I opened up my AOL account, one of the headline stories for the day was about the 10 catchiest songs in country music history, I followed the link and started to read the top 10. I started at 10 and wondered what would be next as I scrolled down the page. I was thinking that we would not have a song on there, then at #1 was our huge hit Elvira. You could hear me screaming all the way from Oklahoma. Thanks to Dallas Frazier for writing such a song that bought us all a new house, and a new car,” says Oaks lead singer Duane Allen.
The Top 10 Catchy Songs in Country: (according to AOL “The Boot”)
1. Elvira / The Oak Ridge Boys
2. The Gambler / Kenny Rogers
3. You Belong With Me / Taylor Swift
4. Family Tradition / Hank Williams Jr.
5. Achy Breaky Heart / Billy Ray Cyrus
6. It’s Finally Friday / George Jones
7. Man! I Feel Like A Woman / Shania Twain
8. Dang Me / Roger Miller
9. How Do You Like Me Know? / Toby Keith
10. Undo It / Carrie Underwood
About The Oak Ridge Boys

Their string of hits includes the pop chart-topper Elvira, as well as Bobbie Sue, Dream On, Thank God For Kids, American Made, I Guess It Never Hurts To Hurt Sometimes, Fancy Free, Leaving Louisiana In The Broad Daylight and many others. They've scored 12 gold, three platinum, and one double platinum album, plus one double platinum single, and had more than a dozen national Number One singles and over 30 Top Ten hits.
The four-part harmonies and upbeat songs of the Oak Ridge Boys have earned them Grammy, Dove, CMA, and ACM awards and garnered a host of other industry and fan accolades. CMT AWARDS SHOW, This WED 6/9/10
This week, Kid Rock takes the stage to host the CMT Awards show, I think that this says a little bit about the success of country music, just about everyone is invited to the party. Jewel,Bon Jovi, all these types have made a country record, Country music usually has something that people can relate to, it's the peoples music. People say that it is too slick, that does not bother me, usually that means a high quality recording, Anything that gets as much guff and imitation is doing something right. Rhonda Vincent, and many others started out in country music to move on to something else.
Country Music showed it's class by a relief show for the big Nashville Flood, Brad Paisley , Martina Mcbride, Lady Antebellum ,Keith urban and many others put on a pared down version of their music which was classy. And it showed what they could really do without all of the fancey stuff.
ENJOY!!!

Miranda Lambert's "Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars" Tour
Nashville, TN (March 11, 2010) -- With her sharp-tongued, no-holds barred attitude, incendiary stage performances, and gun-toting anthems, platinum recording artist Miranda Lambert is a force to be reckoned with -- a woman most men would think twice about double-crossing. Her recent number one hit “White Liar” along with hits like “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” “Gunpowder & Lead” and “Kerosene” leave no question that the gal can hold her own. But there’s a new breed of rough & rowdy country artists who think they are man enough to keep up with the 6x ACM nominated star.
Miranda embarks on her “Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars” headlining tour next week and for all but a handful of dates, she’s enlisted some of the hottest male talents in country music - James Otto, David Nail, Randy Houser, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Eric Church, Jake Owen, Wade Bowen, Luke Bryan and Chris Young. Each will join Miranda for select dates through out the tour.
“I like pink guitars and puppies so how scary can I be?” laughs Miranda. "Seriously, it’s going to be a lot of fun. I’ve been on tour with some great male headliners so I thought it’s only natural that I invite some talented guys on my first official headlining tour!”
"We're excited to join Miranda for a few dates on her upcoming tour," exlaims Cross Canadian Ragweed's guitarist Grady Cross. "It's been about 5 years since we've performed with her and we're proud to be back. Miranda is a great entertainer and its guaranteed to be a good time!"
“Miranda is one of the most talented singer/songwriters out there,” says Chris Young. “I have always loved her music and her live shows, and I’m very excited about being on the road with her.”
“I can’t wait to get out on the road with Miranda,” says an enthusiastic Jake Owen. “She and her band know how to rock and our show is a perfect fit with that. Her fans are always ready to have a good time and we’re ready to show them a party.”
"Miranda has always been one of the most confident women I've been around. It seems she always has her head in the game and ready for the next step before she even knows what that might be," says fellow Texan Wade Bowen. "Her music is original and unique without sticking herself under the radar and with every album release, I find myself anxious to see what she is going to do next. Not many artists have that effect on people anymore!"
"Miranda and I both have a lot of respect for each other musically," says Eric Church. "I consider her a badass and she considers me one. Put us both together and it should be unsafe at best. Everybody better rest up for this one cause we're gonna blow it up."
Miranda’s newest single “The House that Built Me,” a song that showcases her softer, sentimental side, became the #1 most added song this week at over 100 country radio stations. With six 2010 ACM nominations under her belt, a newly celebrated Gold certification of both her first #1 single, "White Liar," and her critically acclaimed third studio album, Revolution, and her first headlining tour, Miranda Lambert has laid a strong foundation in becoming country music's next big superstar.
ABOUT MIRANDA LAMBERT:
Platinum and three-time Grammy nominated recording artist Miranda Lambert recently scored six Academy of Country Music nominations, including Album of the Year for Revolution, and both Song and Single of the Year nods for her first #1 hit "White Liar." Her critically-acclaimed third album, Revolution, debuted at #1 and joins her previous two releases that debuted at the very top of Billboard’s Country Album Charts, making her one of four artists in country music history whose first three albums landed the #1 spot out of the box. Lambert received rare perfect reviews from countless publications including 4 stars from Rolling Stone and USA Today, an ‘A’ from Entertainment Weekly and exuberant praise from SPIN, NY Times, Washington Post and more. Many have claimed Revolution the “Best Album of the Year” in any genre including Houston Chronicle and NPR’s All Things Considered. She won the coveted ACM Album of the Year in 2008 and ACM Best New Female Award in 2007. Her string of nominations include CMA’s Horizon Award (2005, 2006), ACM’s Top Female Vocalist Award (2008, 2009) and Grammys for Best Female Country Vocal Performance (2006, 2007). With this much artillery under her belt, it’s no surprise the fiery Texas bombshell packs a pretty hard punch - her live shows no exception.
ABOUT DAVID NAIL:
Missouri native David Nail’s debut record I’m About To Come Alive was released on MCA Nashville August ‘09 and became the 3rd highest new artist debut on the country charts for the year. The track also just earned an Academy of Country Music Award nomination for “Single of the Year”. Nail wrote five of the eleven tracks for Alive, which boasts many notable names. Lambert lends her vocals to the moody “Strangers On A Train” and both Rascal Flatts lead Gary LeVox (“Summer Job Days”) and Kenny Chesney (“Turning Home”) appear in the songwriting credits. People magazine boasts Nail as “One of Nashville’s Hottest New Stars” and praises the album saying it’s "a rewarding set that showcases his soulful, nuanced vocals" and awarded it three out of four stars. He has also been featured by Billboard, Entertainment Weekly, Us Weekly, Ladies Home Journal and on iTunes, AOL and ESPN 2. He’s performed at Kenny Chesney’s pre-show tailgating parties, opened for Sugarland and on the Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Nail’s new single is “Turning Home”. His most recent hit single, “Boots On,” reached Top 5 on Billboard and Mediabase charts, and spent 2 weeks at #1 on Music Row charts. New Independent Label, Carved Records, Opens Doors
New Independent Label, Carved Records, Opens Doors
Diverse roster emerging following first Country artist signing, No Justice
(Nashville, TN – Feb. 8, 2010) Dallas-based independent record label, Carved Records, has officially opened its doors for business and signed its second artist in just two months with the addition of Texas chart-toppers, No Justice.
Founded by entrepreneur and CEO Tim Porter in 2009, the Carved Records team is anchored by VP of Operations Phil Thomas (formerly of UMG Distribution/Fontana, RED Distribution) and Label Director Jenn Littleton (CO5 Music, former Sr. Marketing Director/A&R Geffen Records).
“Carved Records was founded with a mission to encourage artistic integrity and career longevity,” says Carved Records CEO Tim Porter. “The Carved Records family has already signed two very unique and very diverse acts in No Justice and Texas Hippie Coalition, which is something that our label will continue to do in the pursuit of our creative vision. Our intent is not to sign as many acts as we can, but to keep our roster manageable so that we can build careers with them.”
The label’s first Country artist signing is No Justice, a five-piece band from Stillwater, Okla. The group has enjoyed significant regional success and airplay in Oklahoma and Texas, playing more than 150 dates per year and landing numerous No. 1 singles on the Texas charts, including “Never Come Back” and “Don’t Walk Away.”
“No Justice is a band that has proven hit-making ability,” says Carved Records VP of Operations Phil Thomas. “These guys have enjoyed great success regionally with multiple No. 1s, and we can’t think of a better act to introduce to Nashville and the rest of the nation than Carved Records’ first Country signing, No Justice.”
The No Justice team includes veteran Nashville artist manager Scott Welch of Scott Welch Management and veteran agent Jon Folk of Red 11 Music.
“Jon and I are excited about the partnership between No Justice and Carved Records,” says No Justice manager, Scott Welch. “The industry is going through a very challenging evolution today. To be successful in developing an artist globally, it takes great talent, work ethic, and the “special sauce” known as passion. Carved has demonstrated to all of us that they have the expertise and the “special sauce” to be one of the new forces in music.”
No Justice is currently in Nashville completing their debut album for Carved Records with producer Dexter Green. The project expands on the group’s Country, Rock and Roots sound and is scheduled for a late spring 2010 release.

“When this was first proposed to me as a 50-year celebration, something about that sounded final, and I didn’t want that, so I suggested we call it ‘The First 50 Years,’” Rogers said. “I will tell you this, the first 50 years TV show is gonna be awesome – the next 50 years TV show is gonna be a bitch.”
The red carpet for this event will certainly have to roll for a long way, as there are so many superstars from music, movies, and sports that Kenny has touched over the course of his 50 years in entertainment. It will certainly be an unforgettable night for everyone involved.
Kenny is one of a handful of artists to sell over 125 million albums. He also holds the very rare distinction of having a hit single in each of the last six decades. His television movie “The Gambler” is one of the highest rated TV movies of all time. His duet with Dolly Parton, “Islands In The Stream,” is the #1-selling duet of all time. His extensive history of success also includes 20 platinum, 27 gold records and a Diamond-certified Greatest Hits album that has sold more than 24 million copies worldwide. He has won three Grammy Awards, five Country Music Association Awards, 18 American Music Awards, eight Academy of Country Music Awards and 11 People’s Choice Awards. He has recorded 65 albums and is ranked #8 on the R.I.A.A.’s list of Top Selling Male Artists of all time.
With his unique storytelling ability and soulful voice, Kenny has continued his amazing run into the 21st century with a critically acclaimed album (Water and Bridges) and a recent gold certification (21 Number Ones). Whether it’s his classic or current hits, or his recent appearance on “American Idol,” his relevance in the world of music and pop culture has never been stronger.
“The First 50 Years will reflect the diverse talent Kenny has crossed paths with and enjoyed friendships with throughout the years,” said Dreamcatcher Artist Management President/CEO Jim Mazza. “That is what will make this once-in-a-lifetime celebration so special.”
“MGM at Foxwoods has provided us with an incredible venue in which to celebrate the career of a true icon, Kenny Rogers," said Locomotive Entertainment Group President Gabriel Gornell. "We are planning on shooting a television event that will allow viewers to share in what is going to be a once-in-a-lifetime music experience."

We are truly honored to host this amazing event celebrating our dear friend, Kenny Rogers’ 50 years of success in the Entertainment Industry.”

Nashville, TN (January 25, 2010) – Tickets to the upcoming show in Tulsa, OK for Artist of the Decade George Strait and Entertainment Superstar Reba with special guest Lee Ann Womack sold out in less than an hour on Saturday. This marks the first time in the history of the Bank of Oklahoma (BOK) Center that over 18,000 tickets have been sold for one event.
“The demand for this show is phenomenal,” states John Bolton, General Manager of the BOK Center. “It has been as high as all the shows we’ve had in the past and it’s the most number of tickets sold since the venue opened. “
Strait, Reba and Womack head to play to the thousands of fans in Tulsa on February 20. This marks Strait’s first appearance there in more than 13 years.
With a career spanning more than 25 years, George Strait has the most number one singles of any artist in history including Elvis (57 To Date). He has sold more than 67 million records and with 33 different platinum or multi-platinum albums has the most RIAA platinum certifications in country music and the third in all genres, behind The Beatles and Elvis Presley.
Strait’s recent release Twang debuted at #1 on The Billboard 200 and the Top Country Albums chart. This is the fourth time in Strait's career that a new release has debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 chart and the 13th time debuting at #1 on the Top Country Albums chart. The current single and title track is at #12 on the charts.
Strait recently scored Grammy nods for “Best Male Country Vocal Performance for “Living For The Night,” “Best Country Collaboration with Vocals,” for “Everything But Quits” with Lee Ann Womack and “Best Country Album” for Twang.
At the 2008 CMA Awards, George became the artist with the most CMA Awards in history with Album of the Year for Troubadour and Single of the Year for “I Saw God Today.”
His platinum-selling Troubadour was named “Best Country Album” at the 51st Grammy Awards and in 2008, Strait was the fifth artist ever to receive the Academy of Country Music's Artist of the Decade honor. Strait has won 19 Academy of Country Music Awards including "Entertainer of the Year."
Reba’s latest hit, “Consider Me Gone,” is the longest-running #1 single of the superstar’s career. With it’s 4th week at #1, Reba joins Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood and Gretchen Wilson as the only female Country artists to log more than 3 weeks at #1 in the past 10 years. Reba’s reign of #1 hits now spans four decades. The multimedia superstar was also recently recognized by Billboard, Country Aircheck and Mediabase as the biggest female hit-maker in country music history.
One of the most successful female recording artists in history, Reba has sold over 55 million albums worldwide and her last 13 studio albums have all achieved platinum-plus status. The two-time GRAMMY Award-winner is also an acclaimed film, TV and Broadway actress. Reba signed with The Valory Music Co. in November 2008. The move reunited the multimedia entertainer with industry leader Scott Borchetta, now President and CEO of Big Machine Records and sister label The Valory Music Co.
Lee Ann Womack has sold over 6 million albums, won two Grammys, numerous other milestone awards, and received notoriety for her last album There’s More Where That Came From. Released February of ’05 on CD and classic vinyl, There’s More swept CMA Award trophies fall of the same year for “Album of the Year” and “Single of the Year” (“I May Hate Myself In The Morning”). She is also recognized for #1 singles “The Fool,” “A Little Past Little Rock,” “I’ll Think Of A Reason Later” and the mega smash “I Hope You Dance”.
