CRACKER BARREL AND MONTGOMERY GENTRY SUPPORT WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT WITH EXCLUSIVE NEW CD PROJECT
For Our Heroes CD will provide funds for
wounded service men and women
LEBANON, TN. – Country music stars Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry know a lot about partnering to make some good sounds, and now they are joining with Cracker Barrel Old Country Store® and the Wounded Warrior Project on their newest CD, For Our Heroes. This 12-song CD features familiar hits like “Something To Be Proud Of,” and “My Town.” It also includes an exclusive new song, “One Of Those Days,” as well as four songs that have received only limited release previously. The CD will be available only at Cracker Barrel, and a portion of the proceeds from the sale of each CD will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project, whose mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors.
“Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry are great artists to work with on this exclusive CD project,” says Cracker Barrel’s Vice President of Marketing Peter Keiser. “They have for a long time demonstrated their support of and appreciation for our country’s service people. That concern is aligned with Cracker Barrel’s multi-year support of the Wounded Warrior Project.” Keiser added that this CD recognizes that many of the popular restaurant concept’s guests are Montgomery Gentry fans who will be excited about this opportunity to enjoy this exclusive music project while supporting the efforts of the Wounded Warrior Project.
Eddie and Troy say they were pleased to work on this CD with Cracker Barrel because “we think it’s important to support the soldiers, the men and women who fight for us every day so that we can live in the freedom of this great country, the United States of America.”
For Our Heroes will go on sale at all Cracker Barrel locations on May 25th, but you can pre-order your copy, starting May 18th, at crackerbarrel.com. And from May 18th through May 31st, Cracker Barrel will double the donation to Wounded Warrior Project for every CD that is sold. T-shirts featuring the Wounded Warrior Project’s logo of a soldier carrying a wounded compatriot will also be on sale at all Cracker Barrel locations beginning May 25th. A portion of these sales will also be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project, helping them to ensure this generation of wounded is the most successful and well-adjusted in our nation’s history.
As part of this CD release, you can sign up for the Cracker Barrel sweepstakes to win some great prizes, including the Grand Prize of a trip for two to see Montgomery Gentry on Kenny Chesney’s Sun City Carnival Tour in Indianapolis, IN on September 19th. "@ The Gorge" - The Dead 5 - 16-09 - A review
I must say, the quality of sirius radio is awesome, even with my small headphones, 128 bp mp3 quality, on computer, or you can get 32 if you have dial up. Let me get this out the way first, Haynes is driving me crazy with that hot envelope filter or wah he is using, He overdoes it, Chimenti on the other hand sounds like Keith Godchaux on piano. Lesh is dropping bombs like usual, He sounds great. I can't hear Weirs guitar on this song, Wait, he is playing a wah too, this is nuts, This is 2 hours into the show, I have listened to about half of it. This song is Althea, Haynes sings it nicely. Now, get that Wah out of here. Uh oh, is this, could it be, 1, 2, Yeh, "Eyes Of The world", Phil sounds perfect, Weir is nailing the guitar with a more jazzy feel, Is that Phil singing, yeh, Go, Love this, The wah is gone, nice, nice Harmonies, Whew , Go guys, Haynes is teasing with his guitar now, great interplay, Jerry would be proud. Boy, Chimenti is really tinkling those keys. Crowd is alive. Haynes does a little tinkling with the strings, real mellow.
This version of the Dead is not up to 70s standards, especially vocally, Once in a while, they get the vocals, but I just do not see Haynes fitting. Jimmy Herring, The guys from "The Other Ones". Dickey Betts, He can do a good Franklins Tower. What about, 4 real Dead members plus Chimenti. Face it, Haynes always wanted to get a few wahs and envelope filters, but Jerry was subtle with those Babies. Warren is a very good guitarist, but more of a fit with The Allman Brothers or Government Mule(his Band).
Oh, thos prices, 100 bucks, Phish is doing the summer(45-50) ,Us Deadheads are not money bags, that is why I got a free 72 hour membership to Sirius so I could listen to this. They should give Haynes, a gold mutron pedal for his going away present.(Enough , I know) I love this band, so I have earned the right to rib them, Bottom line, they gave the Crowd a great show, This year, We all need something, Amen.

Bill Gaither describes the motivation behind this new release, stating, "Over the years, the Oak Ridge Boys have taken gospel music into places I, and most other gospel artists, would have never been invited.
This celebration of their gospel journey was more than just a fun opportunity to hear their gospel favorites ... it was about honoring their deep commitment to their gospel roots. I applaud that; and through this DVD I believe countless listeners will enjoy seeing four hearts that truly beat for music with a message."
Oak Ridge Boy, Joe Bonsall, also comments, "This is the most exciting time I've ever experienced with the Oak Ridge Boys. I can remember sitting and watching Gaither Homecoming videos on television and being so blessed. Then on my 50th birthday, we were invited to sit in the audience for the Cathedrals Farewell Celebration and I couldn't believe it ... and when we were called to the stage to sing, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven! Now, more than 10 years after that video was released, we consider Bill and Gloria and many of our other heroes to be friends. Being in their studio, standing in the places where so many legends have stood, to create a video documenting our gospel journey was definitely a full-circle moment for the Oak Ridge Boys."
The Oak Ridge Boys: A Gospel Journey is distributed by EMI and is available in stores everywhere.

This year's ICMC will feature more than three-dozen panels on a variety of influential artists and subjects in all country-related genres, including Bluegrass, Americana, Western Swing, Country Rock, Honky-Tonk, Gospel and more. Notable artists to be profiled in selected presentations will include Bill Monroe, Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Waylon Jennings, Gram Parsons, Kitty Wells, Cowboy Troy, Charlie Louvin and Jimmie Rodgers, among others.
Renowned author and country music expert Don Cusic will co-host the panel "Defining Country Music: What It Is and Does It Matter?" His recent book, "Discovering Country Music," chronicles the evolution of the genre "from the fiddle to the Pop charts" and will be an ICMC Special Feature at this year's event.
"The history of country music is being preserved by these academics and journalists," says Cusic. "We treasure the present by honoring the past, and the International Country Music Conference demonstrates the impact country music has had, and is still having, on culture throughout the world."
Additional ICMC panels will cover subjects ranging from international topics ("Teaching Country Music in Australia: Teaching Australian Country Music" and "New Zealand Country"), regional interests ("A Cajun Music Mystery: Dr. James F. Roach, 'Song of the Crocodile,' and the First Commercial Recording of a Cajun Folksong") and political themes ("Barack Obama, Country Music Stardom, and a New Black American Narrative").
A number of panels will be packaged together and presented on specific themes, including the Bluegrass genre and artists Hank Williams and Jimmie Rodgers.
The Belmont University Book Awards, Lifetime Achievement Award and The Charlie Lamb Awards will also be presented at this year's conference.
Registration is $100 and checks should be sent to James Akenson, Box 5042, Tennessee Tech University, Cookeville, TN, 38505.

Country Artist Adam Gregory To Star In New Film "WWJD"
Film to feature original music from Gregory
(Nashville, Tennessee - May 4, 2009) Country recording artist Adam Gregory has signed on to co-star in the upcoming film "WWJD" based on one of the best-selling Christian books of all-time.
Based on the classic Charles Sheldon book, "In His Steps: What Would Jesus Do," the novel currently sells an average of 100,000 copies per year and is available in 26 languages around the world. More than 40 million copies have been sold since it was written in 1896, second only to the Bible.
Gregory will star in the film alongside John Schneider (The Dukes of Hazzard tv show, Nip/Tuck, CSI, Smallville) and Maxine Bahns (The Mentalist, The Lost Tribe).
"My faith and my music are very closely related," says Gregory. "I feel truly blessed for an opportunity where I can incorporate both into a project that serves a bigger purpose and will hopefully reach millions of others."
Gregory's original song "What Would Jesus Do," from his recent Canadian release Crazy Days, will also be featured in the film. The song was co-written by Keith Follese and Billy Yates.
The film, produced by Joe and Jack Nasser and Kevin Otto of Nasser Entertainment Group, follows four individuals (a singer, a newspaper editor, a wealthy philanthropist and a minister who has lost his faith) as they vow to walk in "the steps of Jesus."
Filming on the project begins this week in Los Angeles, CA.
About Adam Gregory:
Twenty-three-year-old recording artist Adam Gregory is a native of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. After signing his first record deal with Sony Music Canada at age 13, he scored several Top Ten hits and Gold records in his native country before permanently relocating to Nashville in 2007. The rising star sped up the U.S. charts in the summer of 2008, breaking into the Top 30 with his first stateside single, "Crazy Days." Gregory released his follow-up single, "What It Takes," in November, followed by promotional tours with both Cricket Communications, Inc. and Soles4Souls. His album, Crazy Days, was released in Canada in March, with a U.S. debut to follow. Visit www.AdamGregory.com for more information.
