Multi-Platinum Country Music Singer Neal McCoy and The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders Embark on USO Tour To Europe

Multi-Platinum Country Music Singer Neal McCoy and the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Embark on Four-Country USO Tour to Europe

ARLINGTON, Va. – Country music icon Neal McCoy recently departed on a USO/Armed Forces Entertainment tour to the UK, Belgium, Netherlands and Germany, January 25-31, 2010. Joining McCoy on his 14th USO tour are four of “America’s Sweethearts”- the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders (DCC). As part of the week-long USO European trip, McCoy and the DCC will perform for troops and their families, sign autographs and pose for photographs.

The son of an Irish American father who served in the U.S. Army and a Filipino mother, McCoy is a strong supporter of the U.S. military. Having worked with the USO for nearly a decade, he has performed for thousands of troops and their families, and delivered countless words of encouragement to service men and women stationed around the world. Some of the countries McCoy has toured include Afghanistan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq, Bosnia and Italy.

“Touring with the USO is something I always look forward to,” said McCoy. “Having the opportunity to perform for the men and women who protect and serve this country is truly an honor and being able to share the stage with the DCC is an added bonus.”

With eleven albums and more than 25 charted hit singles under his belt, the country singer is best known for his live performances and performs on the road 220 days a year, entertaining audiences with No. 1 hits such as, “No Doubt About It” and “Wink.”

A staple USO entertainment ensemble, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders have performed for the U.S. military for three decades. Since their first USO tour in 1979, they have visited with wounded soldiers, assembled USO care packages, delivered cards from home and entertained troops during the holidays. Among the first entertainers to travel with the USO to Iraq, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders have participated in more USO tours than any other entertainment group in history.

This tour continues the USO’s tradition of sending celebrity entertainers to troops serving far from home. Whether performing, signing autographs, leading clinics or posing for photos, USO celebrity volunteers help service members and their families feel a little closer to home.
