All four members of The Oak Ridge Boys - Duane Allen, Joe Bonsall, William Lee Golden, and Richard Sterban – will be in attendance to accept this honor.

“I fondly recall having the opportunity of presenting a Gospel Music Award to the Oak Ridge Boys in Los Angeles, California in 1973. It just happened to have been Joe Bonsall’s first week with the group. Now, thirty-seven years later, it is such a privilege to present the prestigious SGMG President's Honor to this same amazing group, consisting of Duane Allen, William Lee Golden, Richard Sterban and Joe Bonsall in recognition of their long successful career and significant contributions to the field of southern gospel music,” says Nelon.

With numerous Gold and Platinum albums, they have also enjoyed more than a dozen Number One singles and over 30 Top Ten hits with over 30 million records sold throughout their illustrious 40 year career. With talents that have long been recognized by their peers, this Grammy Award winning group has also received eight Dove Awards, four ACM Awards, four CMA Awards and are members of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. In 2009, the Oak Ridge Boys released their acclaimed new album, The Boys Are Back on SpringHill Records and they continue to perform (with a full touring schedule) live nationwide throughout the year.

Founding member, Duane Allen commented on this great honor, "I have always felt that it was a huge honor to be recognized by your hometown or from one's roots. Gospel music is the foundation of The Oak Ridge Boys' music, Southern style quartet music. I would like to thank all of the former members of The Oak Ridge Boys' organization for laying the groundwork for all of us, and to offer my deepest gratitude to the SGMG for this wonderful honor."

The SGMG Harmony Honors Celebration Concert showcases artists with outstanding accomplishments and award nominations over the past year including Grammy, Dove and Singing News Awards, as well as radio airplay and touring success. Van Ghost Finishes first week of Recording with Justin Niebank

Chicago, IL – February 17, 2010. Van Ghost has finished its first week of recording with Justin Niebank, producer and engineer on two “Album of the Year” Grammy winners, Taylor Swift and Vince Gill. Niebank’s credits also include artists as diverse as Blues Traveler, John Mellencamp, Daughtry and Kenny Chesney.

After making its live debut to a packed house at Chicago's revered Metro in January 2008, Van Ghost released Melodies For Lovers to much critical acclaim. The band, led by charismatic singer-guitarist Michael Berg, went on to perform sets at 2009’s Rothbury Festival, opened for Company of Thieves at Wicker Park Fest, went on tour with Nershi-Law and played the Chicago Bluegrass & Blues Fest, alongside Dr. Dog and Bela Fleck.

Nashville-based producer Justin Niebank got his start recording for Alligator Records in the 1980s and has gone on to produce, engineer and/or mix albums for some of the top names in country, pop and rock, including Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, Rob Thomas and Leftover Salmon. He works frequently at Nashville’s Castle Studios, which opened its doors in 1981 and is housed in an amazing compound that was built in the late 1920s and once served as a hideout for Al Capone!

Niebank and Van Ghost, whose lineup includes backing vocalist Jennifer Hartswick, guitarist Grant Tye (Robbie Fulks band),pedal steel player,Rocco Labriola, bassist Klem Hayes and drummer Greg Marsh, will return to Castle Studios in April, once Hartswick finishes touring with Trey Anastasio of Phish. Niebank’s project partner, record company executive Timm Martin, was responsible for putting the current band lineup together and is working toward releasing the first single and video in early summer, 2010.

"My Sisters and Me" - Gold Heart - A review

This young group of sisters playing guitar, fiddle and mandolin along with their sweet three part Appalachian harmonies has put out their third full CD. This CD has a very full and professional sound, it is an excellent job of recording and mastering. The sound quality is as good as any group that has been around like Union Station, or Melonie Cannon. It has a real live feel to it, not a heavily layered type recording, which is hard to find in bluegrass anyway. This album just shimmers with the sound of great acoustic music.

Jocelyn Gold is a teenager who you would never think is playing all of the guitar on this CD. It really sounds like Tyminski or a real seasoned player like Bryan Sutton. She plays some lead guitar parts that plain out sparkle. She is playing a hand made guitar ,made by Mike Long who she has a endorsement with. She also endorses GHS strings and Blue Chip picks. Gold is a very accomplished songwriter , writing ten of the twelve songs on this CD. One song that she wrote "Heavenly Home" is an accapello three part gospel song that is sung so tightly and with so much emotion. Just three vocals and that is it, it sounds great.

These gals are so refreshing ,honestly, if they keep making this Quality of music, I do not know how they can not be successful. Big Sis, Analise plays some great mandolin and has some great singing in the mix too. She does a lot of the emcee duties on the road. She is the band organizer and helps with the song arrangements.

Shelby plays a hot fiddle and adds her lead and harmony vocals as well. Andy Hall(Sugar Hill Records) plays Dobro on most of the songs, this was Dad, Trent's idea. Trent played bass on one song called "Miles" and he is their bass player on the road. Alan Bartram (McCoury Music) plays bass for the rest of the songs on the CD. I love the Christianity and encouragement which is in their songs. One of my favorites by Gold is "Amidst Life's Storms", a great song for encouragement. The more that I listen to Jocelyn's lyrics, the more impressed I am with her writing. Another part of the sound on this CD is the great banjo picking by Aaron Mcdavis (Pinecastle Records).

This type of Bluegrass has a bit more modern type sound to it because of the way it is recorded and it has more of a beat to it than traditional bluegrass. I think that traditional bluegrassers would love these gals. Rural Rhythm has had added lots of new artists in the last couple of years like Carrie Hassler, Melonie Cannon, and they have veteran groups like Mountain Heart and The Lonesome River Band.

Gold Heart has a lot of talent and a big future ahead if they keep at it. They remind me a bit of the Cherryholmes, whose first CD was real good, but they were older and they had a bigger family base, interestingly enough, both groups have Dad play bass for them. They actually remind me more of early Nickel Creek, who is long gone now. But they were a highly talented act, Sara Watkins just put out her first solo CD this year, singer and fiddler for Nickel Creek.

One Song that Jocelyn did not write, "Sister" by Nora Jane Struthers, is really a song that describes them well, sisters helping each other out, a really nice upbeat tune. A really cute song wrtten by another writer is "Chasing Lightning Bugs", which is sort of a mid tempo song that reminds me of Tennessee, on summer evenings. What is accomplished by this CD is hard to do, imparting a certain emotion, and their music has lots of aspects, lyrical talent, instrument accomplishment and also emotion, they really leave a sense of joy with you, as they really seem to love what they are doing, it is not contrived.

Well, I will quit with one more song that I love, The last song on the CD is "Ride Of Your Life", listen to the words of this song, it just shows the girls love for music and following the path their Savior. I have really enjoyed reviewing this and listening to it and I am not done with it. A Great Listen!

Music City has done its part with the recent collaboration of the biggest names in Nashville’s own Country, Christian and Gospel music communities.

Multi-Platinum, GRAMMY and Dove Award winning artist Michael W. Smith gathered a community of Nashville-based artists on January 27 at Belmont University’s Ocean Way Studio to record “Come Together Now” – a song written by Smith, David Mullen and Cindy Morgan – to benefit Haiti relief efforts.

Music School’s Dustin Wells Gift of Music concert. The sold out event will be held on Monday, February 22, 7:00 pm, at Nashville’s Wildhorse Saloon. James joins some of country music’s biggest stars as Rascal Flatts, Kellie Pickler, Jason Michael Carroll, Keith Anderson and Little Big Town are scheduled to perform. Cracker Barrel and Dailey & Vincent Celebrate #1 Debut on Billboard Bluegrass Chart

CRACKER BARREL AND DAILEY & VINCENT CELEBRATE #1 DEBUT ON BILLBOARD BLUEGRASS CHART WITH DAILEY & VINCENT SING THE STATLER BROTHERS

Duo Also Makes First Entry into Top 20 of Billboard Top Country Albums Chart With Hot Shot Debut, and Clinches Top Heatseekers Spot

LEBANON, TENN. - Cracker Barrel Old Country Store® and Dailey & Vincent are pleased to celebrate the #1 debut of Dailey & Vincent Sing the Statler Brothers on the Billboard Top Bluegrass Albums chart (issue date February 20). The album also entered the Billboard Top Country Albums chart at #19, earning the Hot Shot Debut and marking the duo’s first top-20 debut on that chart. The album has landed the #1 spot on the Heatseekers Albums chart, for artists who have never appeared in the top 100 of the Billboard 200, or the top 10 of R&B/HipHop, Country, Latin, Christian or Gospel Albums charts. It is also at #120 on the overall Billboard 200.

The twelve-song CD, now available exclusively at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store® and online at www.crackerbarrel.com, features Dailey & Vincent’s new bluegrass interpretations of classic Statler Brothers songs.

“We are thrilled beyond belief about the response to this album,” said Jamie Dailey. “It’s further evidence of the timelessness of these great songs.”

“We are so thankful to our fans who went out and purchased the CD,” Darrin Vincent continued, “and to Statler Brothers fans who love the music like we do and took a chance on us.”

“Cracker Barrel congratulates Dailey & Vincent on this great achievement, “ said Peter Keiser, Cracker Barrel’s Vice President of Marketing. “Debuting at #1 on the Billboard Bluegrass Albums chart clearly demonstrates that these talented performers are a great fit with Cracker Barrel’s guests. We see this achievement as another important moment in the growth of Cracker Barrel’s role as a non-traditional music retailer,” he added

The chart-topping debut wraps up an incredible week for Dailey & Vincent, who celebrated the album’s release with a party at the Country Music Hall of Fame® & Museum on February 3. The Statler Brothers themselves, along with other top names including Ricky Skaggs, Bill Gaither, Ralph Emery, Duane Allen, Joe Bonsall, Ronnie and Rob McCoury, Steve Wariner, Rounder Records co-founder Ken Irwin and Ronnie Bowman, were on hand to congratulate Jamie and Darrin and to cheer on their performance of several songs from the album.

Music critic and historian Robert K. Oermann described Dailey & Vincent’s performance at the party for Music Row, saying, “ . . . the group performed flawlessly. Make that sensationally. People were screaming and shouting at them after every song.”

“They’ve done a great thing,” Statler Don Reid told the Staunton News-Leader in an interview. “They’re true to the arrangements and lyrics. We’re touched by their talent, character and intentions.”

Dailey & Vincent also made an in-store appearance at the Cracker Barrel location in Cookeville, Tennessee, on February 4, performing songs from the album before signing copies for their fans. On February 5 and 6, they performed two sold-out concerts at Avery Trace Middle School in Cookeville. On February 1 they appeared on Ralph Emery Live on RFD-TV and joined WSM’s Eddie Stubbs for an in-studio visit. They returned to WSM for a visit with Bill Cody on February 5.

On Sunday, February 7, Dailey & Vincent won four SPBGMA Bluegrass Awards—Vocal Group of the Year, Gospel Group of the Year/Contemporary, Male Vocalist of the Year/Contemporary for Jamie Dailey, and Bass Fiddle Performer of the Year for Darrin Vincent.

New Independent Label, Carved Records, Opens Doors

New Independent Label, Carved Records, Opens Doors
Diverse roster emerging following first Country artist signing, No Justice

(Nashville, TN – Feb. 8, 2010) Dallas-based independent record label, Carved Records, has officially opened its doors for business and signed its second artist in just two months with the addition of Texas chart-toppers, No Justice.

Founded by entrepreneur and CEO Tim Porter in 2009, the Carved Records team is anchored by VP of Operations Phil Thomas (formerly of UMG Distribution/Fontana, RED Distribution) and Label Director Jenn Littleton (CO5 Music, former Sr. Marketing Director/A&R Geffen Records).

“Carved Records was founded with a mission to encourage artistic integrity and career longevity,” says Carved Records CEO Tim Porter. “The Carved Records family has already signed two very unique and very diverse acts in No Justice and Texas Hippie Coalition, which is something that our label will continue to do in the pursuit of our creative vision. Our intent is not to sign as many acts as we can, but to keep our roster manageable so that we can build careers with them.”

The label’s first Country artist signing is No Justice, a five-piece band from Stillwater, Okla. The group has enjoyed significant regional success and airplay in Oklahoma and Texas, playing more than 150 dates per year and landing numerous No. 1 singles on the Texas charts, including “Never Come Back” and “Don’t Walk Away.”

“No Justice is a band that has proven hit-making ability,” says Carved Records VP of Operations Phil Thomas. “These guys have enjoyed great success regionally with multiple No. 1s, and we can’t think of a better act to introduce to Nashville and the rest of the nation than Carved Records’ first Country signing, No Justice.”

The No Justice team includes veteran Nashville artist manager Scott Welch of Scott Welch Management and veteran agent Jon Folk of Red 11 Music.

“Jon and I are excited about the partnership between No Justice and Carved Records,” says No Justice manager, Scott Welch. “The industry is going through a very challenging evolution today. To be successful in developing an artist globally, it takes great talent, work ethic, and the “special sauce” known as passion. Carved has demonstrated to all of us that they have the expertise and the “special sauce” to be one of the new forces in music.”

No Justice is currently in Nashville completing their debut album for Carved Records with producer Dexter Green. The project expands on the group’s Country, Rock and Roots sound and is scheduled for a late spring 2010 release.

"DANDELION" -New CD by Becky Schlegal

Natural Nuance, Poetic Imagination And Magical Tone Highlight Becky Schlegel's New CD, DANDELION
Purchase Now Online Or In Stores April 6
Nashville, TN (February 1, 2010) -- Becky Schlegel's newest CD, DANDELION (LILLY RAY/IGO Records), is a live-sounding record that is rich with natural nuance, poetic imaginings and magical tone. Co-produced by Schlegel and Brian Fesler and recorded in Minnesota, the project drops April 6, 2010. "We took a more relaxed, spontaneous approach on DANDELION," says Becky, a new Nashville resident. "We let the songs be free to end up where they were destined to be.”
The 13-song collection resonates with Schlegel's insightful originals and ever-engaging voice. Two very special guests appear on the disc: Randy Kohrs (Dolly Parton, Tom T. Hall) and Josh Williams (Rhonda Vincent, 2009 IBMA Guitar Player of the Year). Seasoned musicians adding their talents include: Brian Fesler (Banjo, Acoustic/Electric Guitars); Richard Dworsky, Benny Weinbeck (Piano); Gordon Johnson (Bass); Marc Anderson, Phil Hey (Percussion/Drums); Michael Witcher (Resonator Guitar); Kenny Wilson (Pedal Steel, Electric Guitar); Clint Hoover (Chromatic/Diatonic Harps) and Josh Williams, Jeff Midkiff and Joe Cruz on Mandolin.
What makes DANDELION so striking is the continued growth of Becky's songwriting and her polished comfort in the producer's chair. While her voice has been compared to Alison Krauss, and her writing compared to that of Sarah McLachlan and Jewel, there is no denying that DANDELION offers the purest and best of Becky Schlegel all around. An Appalachian thread runs throughout the project, and Schlegel draws heavily upon her bluegrass heritage to add an earthy sparkle and subtle shine to each track. From the memories of her grandmother, glimpsed throughout the disc's opener "Anna," to the haunting vignettes invoked by the title track, her imaging paints portraits that are startling in their vividness. Her current single, "Colorado Line," is a mid-tempo look back at a well-remembered goodbye - and what might have been, while the engaging “I Never Loved You Cowboy,” is a tune inspired by a real-life teenaged breakup. Schlegel confronts infidelity in "So Embarrassing," which features the artful harmonies and signature Resonator Guitar of Kohrs. "When It Rains" showcases Williams joining Schlegel to create a mesmerizing vocal pairing.
DANDELION is her most “country” effort to date; the result of songs pulled from past memories and dreams unfulfilled and heretofore unspoken. The disc will be in stores nationwide on April 6, but fans can order copies online now. DANDELION is Becky's fourth solo album of originals, following RED LEAF, DRIFTER LIKE ME, and the critically-acclaimed FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE. The Minnesota Music Academy has honored her for five consecutive years, and in 2003, 2005 and 2008, she performed at the IBMA’s prestigious Songwriters’ Showcase. Schlegel continues to entertain fans at intimate venues surrounding her new Nashville home, and across the Midwest.
Fans can learn more about Becky and purchase her music at www.beckyschlegel.com. For interviews or press materials, email somuchmoore@charter.net or call Martha at 615-746-3994.
